Innocence Lost
This is a collection of work I created during my first semester at Pratt Institute. All of the photos were shot using a 35mm film camera and both developed and printed manually in a darkroom. This project was focused on depicting a sense of loss and, specifically, loss of innocence during the messy, complex stage between childhood and adulthood, During this period in life, one is in the process of transitioning between states such as dependence and independence, and conformity and individuality, Living on my own for the first time in my life, I was drawn to capturing solemn reminders of my carefree childhood on the streets of a harsh, overwhelming city in which I was alone and had to immediately become tough-minded, mature, and self-sufficient.
